I am a huge fan of Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. My personal style tends to lean towards tribal. I adore geometrics, repeating patterns, and anything folk-artsy (that’s a word, right?).
Julie’s stencil, TCW594 Tribal Fish, for The Crafter’s Workshop, is right up my alley.
This framed 11×14 canvas pad is an acrylic original. I layered about four layers of acrylic paints with Stencil Girl Club Exclusive stencils by Andrew Borloz, Post Memphis, in bright and bold primaries. I then covered it with a wash of a deep blue. Then I laid the stencil down before the paint dried and removed paint with a baby wipe through the stencil. Once dry, I went back through with a white posca pen. I love the end result.
